“New Ways of Seeing”: A Design Thinking Curriculum
How might we excite and inspire Primary 3 students to solve a problem in their school using Design Thinking?
We worked with Tanjong Katong Primary to re-design their P3 Design Thinking curriculum. We designed a ‘problem surfacing workshop’, interviewing students to identify a problem statement that was relevant, relatable and challenging. Using happiness as a theme, we created a 12hr learning journey for students, including creative activities and eye-catching worksheets to scaffold learning.
Teacher Training
To empower all the teachers and introduce a DT mindset into the school, we designed a 6hr whole-school teacher training workshop. We used a scenario-based approach to take teachers through the open-ended, experimental nature of design thinking, exploring tools and tricks to support students through the process.
Some prototypes that the students created at the end of the programme. They were tasked to do different prototypes, such as storyboards, skits and physical artefacts such as dioramas and products.
